Handgun Found in Desk Post-Termination

The Facts

An insured organization made the decision to terminate an employee who had been working remotely for more than 6 months.

After the termination, which was conducted telephonically, HR asked a representative to clean out his desk and send him his belongings.  In the process, a handgun was found in the desk.
