How can we help

First class response 

In the unfortunate event of a cyber breach, the cover will provide immediate response services accessible 24 hours a day to policyholders 24 hour claims hotline. Response services will be tailored to the incident, for example forensic analysis of suspected breach or technology replacement available for system failures. Moreover, where a yacht is rendered unsafe or unfit for use, a temporary vessel and emergency accommodation is available to the assured.

Examples or Scenarios

Loss of use of bridge systems: ​ 
A trusted third-party software provider updates a critical operating system such as Electronic Chart Display Information System that contains an error rendering it inoperable, but in this instance no Physical Damage to the vessel occurs. ​ 

Forensic Investigation of systems is needed by experts with hardware replacement required.  ​ 

Privacy: ​ 

Data from onboard servers extracted by a threat actor, with an extortion demand for threat of release. Data includes information on the crew and guest manifest, passport and medical information as well as Vessel CCTV footage.  ​ 

Cyber extortion negotiation and expertise required in addition forensic analysis, legal advice of regulatory data breaches and fines.​ 

Physical damage: ​ 

A disgruntled employee embeds malware on behalf of a threat actor within AVR software and/or engine control software which could prevent generators or engines from providing sufficient power resulting in a loss of manoeuvrability and ultimately physical damage to the vessel.​ 

Maritime support vessels required, system replacement and hull coverage.​
