Shooting Thwarted by Man with Gun and Machete

The Facts

A former employee went to the casino carrying a shotgun and machete. He requested to be taken to the surveillance office so that he could review tape from when he worked there. He believed the Russian mafia was trying to poison him and thought there would be proof on the surveillance tapes. A security guard started walking him through the casino towards the offices; while this was happening a staff member called 911. The casino was evacuated. The GM walked towards the individual and asked if he would like to take his gun back to the car, which he declined. The GM told him it would be safer if they went back to his office to call the surveillance office and notify them they were coming, because he didn’t want them to react poorly if they just showed up there with a gun. He agreed. When they opened the GM’s office door, they were greeted by the police with their guns drawn. He was arrested and no physical harm was done. Bomb squad came as he left a silver box at the front of the casino. Building cleared within a few hours.
