An individual died from a self-inflicted gunshot shortly after entering the lobby when he was approached by a security guard. His appearance ‘appeared off’ and the guard asked him if he had a weapon. The man pulled out a gun from his clothing and immediately pointed it at his own head and fired. He never pointed the gun at the guard. The incident led the hospital to divert ambulances to other facilities for several hours.
