Shooting occurred in the lobby involving two groups. Video review shows male #1 sitting in the lobby stand and point a gun at a group of guests that arrived in the lobby via elevator. One person from the group handed a gun to male #2. Male #2 then shot at male #1. Gun fire was exchanged by each of the two males with a total of 18 shots fired. Male #1 was hit by a bullet and fled to the west entrance hallway where he collapsed on the floor. Male #2 and the rest of the group all ran out the doors. Male #1 was taken to the hospital. Police response was immediate, as they were already at the hotel for an unrelated matter. Male #2 later arrived at the same hospital where Male #1 was taken to for medical care. Male #1 died at the hospital. Male #2 was arrested. Employees went into hiding when the gunfire erupted. None were injured, however they were traumatized.
